Insurance and compensation of Parcels

Parcel loss is a common type of abnormal parcel status during international transportation. In response to this situation, Chowkbazar will assist user to verify the specific situation of the parcel, and compensate the confirmed lost parcel according to the compensation standard on our platform.

1. Details of Compensation for Parcel Loss

If your parcel is lost (loss not caused by Chowkbazar is not covered by compensation):

1) You did not purchase parcel loss insurance when submitting it

We will compensate the lower amount between the actual commodity value and the compensation cap of the route, and refund your parcel freight

2) You purchased parcel loss insurance when submitting it

We will compensate the lower amount between the insured value, the actual commodity value, and the compensation cap of the route, and refund your parcel freight. We suggest that you fill in the insurance amount based on the actual purchased commodity value when purchasing insurance.

What is Insured Value?

The insured value is the amount you insure the parcel, and it is the basis for us to compensate you if the parcel is lost. You can do an assessment of your parcel value and choose how much to insure.

Parcel Insurance Cost = Insured Value × 2%

2. Disclaimer

1) No compensation for the loss due to force majeure such as natural disasters or customs reasons;

2) No compensation for parcel being confiscated by the competent authority or dealt with in accordance with relevant laws and regulations due to delivery in violation of the provisions on prohibited or restricted articles;

3) No compensation for parcel that is intact without any traces of disassembly and its weight is not reduced during delivery, while the inner parts are missing or damaged;

4) No compensation for parcel if the tracking shows that it has not been delivered properly, and it is confirmed by the logistics provider that the parcel has been confiscated by the customs (subject to the logistics provider’s query at this condition);

5) No compensation for the loss or the shortage of the contents due to the responsibility of the customer or the cause of the item itself;

6) No compensation for parcel if the customer fails to inquire and ask for compensation from the date of delivery to the expiration of the inquiry period;

7) No compensation if the international parcel is seized, confiscated or destroyed by the destination country according to its domestic laws and regulations.

3、Prohibited items

Prohibited delivery items

1) The national laws and regulations prohibit the circulation or delivery of goods;

2) Explosive, flammable, corrosive, radioactive, toxic and other dangerous goods;

3) Reactionary newspapers, books, windows, or obscene articles;

4) Various currencies;

5) Articles which impair public health;

6) Perishable items;

7) Live animal (except to ensure the safety of packaging and delivery staff of bees, silkworms, leech);

8) Improper package which may endanger personal safety, pollution or damage to other items of mail equipment;

9) Other items that is not suitable for mailing.

Postal Convention of prohibited delivery

1) The nature of the goods or their packaging has hurt the postal service personnel or defaced mail or postal equipment is suspected;

2) Sealed with metal buttons and other sharp edges that might jeopardize mail processing items;

3) All kinds of firearms, ammunition, easy explosive goods, flammable items, corrosive goods, radioactive elements and containers, deadly poisons, anesthesia drugs, biological products and infectious materials;

4) A variety of social security and stability and the stability of obscene publications, publicity materials, printed matter, etc. that hurt social security or stability;

5) Various items that hurt public health;

6) A document or article that is prohibited from entering or circulating;

7) In addition to the general provisions of the above, it should also comply with the relevant provisions of the Customs Department.

4. Others
